The wreck lies just off the northeast cape of Šolta at the mouth of Stomorska bay, with the island bulk rising immediately to the south, southwest and west, so the whole landward arc from S through W to NW is well sheltered — Maestral afternoon breezes off the land and any westerly sea are blocked. The exposed window is the open Split/Brač channel to the north, northeast and east, where the site takes wind-sea built across roughly 15 km of channel toward Brač and the Split mainland; a Bura (Bora) gusting offshore from the NE can raise a short, sharp chop here. The Adriatic's dominant Jugo (Sirocco) reaches the site from the SE, running down the channel with the longest fetch and building the biggest waves, though the curving Šolta coast to the SSE gives some shelter as the swell backs toward the south. Being shallow and close to a lee shore, the wreck is diveable in most settled conditions but gets stirred up and murky in any sustained N-to-E channel wind or a strong Jugo.
