Sited on the south shore of Čiovo facing the Split Channel (Splitski kanal), the wreck and its wall are most exposed to the Jugo (Sirocco) from the SE through S, whose long fetch funnels up the channel along the Adriatic's SE-NW axis and builds the largest wind-waves here. The bulk of Čiovo and the mainland to the north and northeast shadow the landward sectors almost completely, so the cold Bura (Bora) from the NE blows offshore with little fetch on this face. The most open window points south toward the Split Gate (Splitska vrata) and is only partially checked by distant Hvar, while Šolta island to the SSW-WSW shadows those sectors, keeping this a sheltered channel site rather than an open-Adriatic one, though SE-S storms can still push significant surface chop up the channel.
