Sveti Andrija (St. Andrew Wall)

About This Site
The most spectacular wall dive in the Dubrovnik region, on the outermost Elaphiti island crowned by an 1873 lighthouse. The dive starts shallow on the sheltered side at around 3 m and follows a near-vertical drop-off that plunges steeply to roughly 80 m, passing caves at about 12 m and 35 m. Patches of increasingly rare red coral cling to the deeper crevices, and the famously clear water has earned the site its nickname, the 'St. Andrew Aquarium.'

Sveti Andrija is the outermost Elaphiti islet, sitting roughly 11 km out in the open Adriatic with no land between it and the long SE-to-NW axis of the sea. Its seaward (S/SE/SW/W) face takes the full brunt of Jugo (Sirocco) swell, the longest-fetch wind-wave in this region, making it one of the most exposed dives near Dubrovnik. The inner archipelago and mainland to the NE-N shelter the landward sectors and blunt the offshore Bura (Bora), so the recreational entry is made on that calmer protected side.
