The reef sits in the channel just east of the Grebeni islets, which shadow the whole western arc (W through NW), while the mainland Babin Kuk/Lapad peninsula blocks the landward arc from N through E. That leaves a wide-open Adriatic window running SE–SSE–S, so a Jugo (Sirocco) from the SE blows straight into the site and drives the biggest swell here. A Bura (Bora) from the NE blows offshore over the peninsula and westerlies are broken up by the islets, so outside of a Jugo the geometry keeps this a sheltered all-levels site in most summer conditions.
