Vis is Croatia's premier wreck-diving destination — the most remote inhabited Adriatic island, long closed as a military base, which kept its waters exceptionally clear and its WWII wrecks intact. Divers come for the B-24 Liberator and Teti and Vassilios T wrecks and the Blue Cave (Modra špilja) on neighbouring Biševo. Sites are reached by boat and range from shallow caverns to deep technical wrecks.
