Sitting on the open western flank of Pointe de la Revellata, the site is exposed straight into the WSW-to-NW arc, taking the prevailing northwesterly Mistral/Tramontane wind-waves that sweep the Gulf of Lion and the Ligurian Sea. The Revellata cape and the Corsican landmass wrap around to the south and east, so the southwesterly Libeccio is largely blocked and the whole SSW-through-E sector, including the warm Scirocco off Africa, has little reach here. As a microtidal Mediterranean site the exposure is wind-wave driven rather than groundswell, and dives are typically called off when the Mistral blows hard from the W-NW.
