Tucked onto the south shore of the Golfe de la Revellata near Punta Vaccaja, the site opens only northward through the mouth of the gulf, which faces the open sea toward Calvi and the north-northeast. The Revellata peninsula rising to the west and northwest blocks the dominant NW Mistral and Tramontane, and the Corsican mainland at the head of the gulf shuts out the south-southwest Libeccio, leaving the site well sheltered in the region's prevailing heavy weather. Its exposure is the N-NE window: northerly swell and wind-waves funnelling in through the gulf mouth can build surge inside the boulder maze, so it dives best in settled or offshore southerly conditions.
