About This Site
La Revellata is the signature reserve dive of Calvi, set on the wild southwest flank of the Pointe de la Revellata headland below the lighthouse and STARESO oceanographic station. A spectacular underwater canyon and drop-off step from around 15 m down to 35-40 m, threaded with corridors, white-sand channels and steep walls draped in purple gorgonians and red coral. Lying on the edge of the protected Revellata/Scandola natural area, it is regarded alongside the B-17 as the must-do dive of the region.

The site sits on the seaward W-to-NW-facing shore of the Pointe de la Revellata headland, with its open swell window running from WSW through NW to N, straight into the open Mediterranean. Both the NW Mistral/Tramontane and the westerly fetch arrive unbroken here. The peninsula's own SW-running coast blocks the S and SW sectors, so the Libeccio and the southerly Scirocco reach the site only weakly, while the Corsican landmass to the E and NE shelters the landward arc. Being microtidal, conditions are governed by wind rather than tide, and the dive is best on light W-through-N days.
