A cavern site cut into the limestone cliffs of the Rovinia/Liapades cove on Corfu's northwest Ionian coast, with its open swell window through the SSW-WSW sectors, peaking around WSW-SW. The dominant exposure is the SW-WSW Libeccio-driven Ionian swell, which has the longest open fetch and can push surge into the chambers. The Paleokastritsa promontories and the bay's north shore shield the W-NW arc, so the NW Maestro is largely blocked, and the Corfu landmass fully shelters the entire eastern and southeastern side. As a microtidal Mediterranean site there is negligible tidal flow, so conditions are governed almost entirely by swell direction.
