The dive sits in the channel between Megalo and Mikro Adelfi, roughly 10 km ESE of Alonissos in open Aegean water. From this pin the summer Meltemi and the whole N-to-E arc are blocked by Mikro Adelfi and the bulk of Alonissos and Peristera to the north and northeast, while Megalo Adelfi and the Alonissos landmass shut down the SW-W-NW sectors. The one open swell window faces ESE through SSE - peaking to the SE, consistent with the wall's orientation - and takes easterly-to-scirocco fetch, with only the ESE partly shadowed by distant Skantzoura some 12 km off. Conditions are wind-driven at this microtidal Mediterranean site, and the limiting factor is the exposed open-water crossing, which is cancelled when the Meltemi blows hard even though the channel itself lies in its lee.
