About This Site
The signature dive of the La Maddalena Archipelago National Park and one of the most-booked sites out of Palau and La Maddalena. A large granite shoal of huge eroded boulders, ledges, passages and small caves, its summit rises to about 6 m and the base rests on the archipelago platform near 35 m. Four mooring buoys at roughly 4 m mark the start of several routes (the Classic, the Mushroom, the Arch), so it suits a wide range of certifications, though current and depth give the deeper laps an intermediate feel.

A fully submerged granite shoal sitting mid-channel between Spargi/Spargiotto and Budelli, near the Strait of Bonifacio. It is most exposed to the W-NW, where the Maestrale (Mistral) funnels hard down the strait and drives the channel's wind-waves and strong currents onto the steep west wall; the bulk of Spargi to the south shelters the S-SSE sectors, while Budelli partly shadows the north. Wave height is modest in this microtidal sea, but tidal/wind-driven current through the channel is the dominant condition and can run strong.
