The dive is on the seaward south-to-southwest wall of the Punta de la Mona headland, so the open Mediterranean fetch from the S, SSW and SE hits it directly while the cape itself shadows the landward N-NW-NE sectors. As a microtidal Med site the main concern is wind-wave, not swell: the strong easterly Levante wraps the cape's east flank and the long Alborán fetch from the SE-S builds the working seas here, while the Poniente westerly is partly blocked by the point. Calm-day diving favours light or northerly (offshore) winds.
