A submerged seamount in the open eastern waters of the Tabarca reserve, shadowed to the WNW-NW by Tabarca island and the La Nao islet just upwind but fully open to the Mediterranean across the eastern arc. The dominant exposure comes from the Levante (E-NE) wind-waves and from the Scirocco/Xaloc out of the SE, which has the longest fetch and builds the biggest sea here; the W-NW sectors are blocked by the island and the SW is attenuated by the distant Guardamar-Torrevieja mainland (roughly 18-28 km off). As a microtidal Med site there is no significant tide, but surface chop and a moderate current over the pinnacle can build quickly when the Levante or Scirocco are running.
