Set on the southwest tip of Santorini between the Akrotiri Lighthouse and Mesa Pigadia, the rock faces southwest toward open sea. The island shadows the northern and eastern sectors, so it sits on the lee side of the dominant summer Meltemi (N-NW), which is what makes it the area's reliable go-to site. Its main exposure is from the south through southwest, where the warm Scirocco and southerly wind-waves have the longest fetch; surge inside the lava caverns and swim-throughs picks up noticeably when a southerly is running.
