A south-southwest-facing wall on the open south flank of the Portofino promontory, with the headland landmass blocking the northern, eastern and northwestern sectors. In the microtidal Mediterranean its exposure is wind-wave driven: the longest-fetch southerlies — Scirocco (S-SE) and Ostro (S) — and the Libeccio (SW) build the working swell and can close the site out, while the Tramontana (N) and Maestrale/Mistral (NW) are shadowed by the promontory. The west sector is only partially open toward Golfo Paradiso and the open Ligurian Sea. Best dived on a calm, settled sea.
