Bird Rock

Prominent rock at the mouth of Isthmus Cove exposed to west through west-northwest energy moving down the San Pedro Channel at high to near-full strength, along with rare north through north-northwest swell. South through southwest energy arrives heavily shadowed by the island, leaving only a small residual at the rock. The lee side is often calm, but stiff surface currents can occur past the rock's shadow.
