The wall faces south toward the open Mediterranean from the seaward tip of the headland that separates the Calanque d'En-Vau from the Calanque de l'Oule. The towering Calanques cliffs to the north fully block the Mistral (NW) and the entire landward sector, which is exactly why the site stays divable when that wind blows. The exposed face is open to southerly wind-waves and the long-fetch Scirocco (S-SE), so the SE-S-SW arc is where surface chop and surge build.
