Southwest-facing cove sheltered by its northern point from prevailing northwest and west swell. The open window spans south through southwest: south-southwest funnels in at near-full strength with south and southwest close behind, and long-period southern swell drives strong surge inside the cove even when it looks calm. West-southwest sees moderate exposure, while west through northwest energy is well attenuated, with residual surge wrapping the north point. Visibility drops rapidly after rain.
