Scorpion Anchorage

Northeast-opening anchorage on Santa Cruz Island's north shore. Primary exposure is to north through northeast energy, which arrives at high exposure across the channel — the bay is notoriously vulnerable to northeast swell and winter Santa Ana easterlies. East sees moderate exposure and east-southeast is largely blocked by Anacapa. Well protected from southerly and westerly directions, with northwest energy creeping around Cavern Point at reduced strength.
