Boat dive in the immediate eastern lee of the main Redfish Rocks islet, which blocks southwest through north-northwest at close range; Port Orford Heads adds to the northwest shadow. Open water lies to the south, the only direction that reaches the anchorage at strength. The mainland blocks east through northeast. Requires calm weather windows, but far more sheltered than an open-reserve label suggests.
