Le Sconciglie sit on the open north-west corner of Ventotene, west of Punta Eolo, with the island bulk shielding the south and east sectors. The site takes the full brunt of the NW Mistral/Tramontana and W Ponente winds, which drive wind-waves straight onto the reef and amplify surge through the arch and caves; the SW Libeccio wraps the corner with oblique chop. It is well sheltered from the south-easterly Scirocco by the landmass, making it diveable in the prevailing summer southerlies.
