Goleta Beach

South-facing bay well-protected by Point Conception and the Channel Islands. Westerly windswell arrives only as a weak wrap around Goleta Point, while the open eastern channel entrance lets southeast energy through at low to moderate levels. Summer south swells can add gentle surge but rarely real surf. Consistently calm entry suitable for beginners, though visibility suffers after rain.
